Brilliant and emotional institutional act of the 80 years of the CB Canarias

The Aguere Cultural Space, in the heart of La Laguna, hosted an emotional institutional event this afternoon to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the CB Canarias. Representatives of different generations linked to the Aurinegra family, from players, coaches, fans, sponsors, authorities and the media, participated in a most emotional event. Presented by Ivan López and Carlos Bilbao, with live music by Moldovan violinist Dorina Gavrilita . , the event was also attended by Antonio Martín, president of the ACB; Jorge Garbajosa, president of the Spanish Basketball Federation, and Patrick Conmninos, head of the Basketball Champions League. More than a dozen city councils on the Island were also represented in an event chaired, among other authorities, by Manuel López, general director.

The Canarian president, Félix Hernández, took advantage of the occasion to convey two feelings to those present. One, of gratitude, for having contributed, in good times and bad, to the growth of the aurinegro project. And another, of enthusiasm, to invite everyone to enjoy the current moment of the Aurinegro team and continue along the same path of perseverance, enthusiasm and work that has led the Tenerife entity to go so far.



The authorities and guests present who spoke during the event expressed themselves in similar terms. His speech spoke of the historical symbiosis between fans and team and the pride that the Canarian club continues to carry on a national and international level the name of La Laguna, Tenerife and the Canary Islands. The event included several symbolic recognitions to representatives of different groups whose contribution has been fundamental in the 80 years of history of the Aurinegro club.
