The city of Kanchanaburi is known for its lush landscape and the famous bridge over the River Kwai. But also for its rafts and floating buildings , something that distinguishes it very well from the rest of the cities in Thailand. Precisely in that place is where these floating and prefabricated rooms called X-Float were photographed . They offer visitors luxurious and comfortable accommodation, forming part of the X2 River Kwai Resort complex . X-Float floating and prefabricated rooms As explained very well in the following illustration, the volumetry of this floating hotel room arose from a raft . It went from a primitive 2-dimensional construction to a more complex and three-dimensional one.
In the final result, the idea has been completed with some perimeter walls (on three of its fronts). This allows defining a rear entrance, access to the deck, and allowing the rooms to be next to each other on the dock, always maintaining their privacy.
